Couture Capes

Our couture capes are made by hand from silk velvet and lined in mulberry silk.

Couture capes, embroidered by hand

A Mirayama couture cape is silk velvet, lined in 100% mulberry silk, and embroidered by hand with sequins, beads, feathers and metal thread. The embroidery takes between 40 and 240 hours a cape: the Royal Garden Cape alone carries 240 hours of leaf-shaped green sequins on magenta velvet, over an olive mulberry silk lining.

Floor-length capes and knee-length capes

The two floor-length capes are the hooded Mystery Cape in black (161 cm from the neck) and the Royal Garden Cape in magenta (160 cm), for black tie, the opera, galas and winter weddings. The Rainbow, Silver Feather and Shining Collar capes are 118 cm from the neck and fall to the knee, a lighter line over a column dress, with long sleeves or bare shoulders. Every cape fits S to L and can be adjusted to your measurements.

In stock, or made for you

A cape in stock is dispatched within 3 working days. Otherwise it is made for you in 6 to 8 weeks, and we confirm the date by email. A cape made to order cannot be cancelled once work has begun; we confirm this with you before we start. Enquire about a bespoke cape in your own colours, or enquire about an appointment, and we will reply personally.

With the cape

The Silver Feather and Rainbow capes each have a matching feather headdress, made to be worn together. Poncho or shawl: the difference.
